Ex-traor’di-nar”y, adj. 1. remarkable, 2. out of the ordinary
I was just replying to a friend’s email this morning and the Lord seemed to impress upon me how rich my life was by the company of my friends. This was a friend from church. Not even a woman that I know very well, but we have shared email prayer needs and praises for sometime. I have been honored to pray for her and her loved ones.
What God seemed to say to me this morning was…………….
Every single day, you have contact with an “extraordinary” person of faith.
God’s message kind of caught me off guard. I am often led to tell my friends, especially my girlfriends, how much they mean to me. I wasn’t born with”earthly sisters”, but the Lord has been very generous with the women that He has brought into my life. And I have to be honest, it’s not just all the gals. God has blessed me by the men of faith that are in my life and the life of my family too. My husband is one of those men.
God’s revelation to me this morning was absolutely true. Everyday, the Lord allows me to have contact with someone that has an extraordinary heart for God. It’s either in person, by phone, by email, by activity, or even by casual contact. There is not a day that goes by that He does not bless me by having contact with someone that is walking the walk of faith. Real faith. Remarkable faith. Extraordinary faith.
In the book “Experiencing God-How to Live the Full Adventure of Knowing and Doing the Will of God” by Blackaby and King, the authors state: “God speaks to His people by the Holy Spirit. He can speak in any way He chooses; but the most common ways through which God speaks today include the Bible, prayer, circumstances and the church. He speaks to reveal Himself, His purposes, and His ways. When what God says through the Bible, prayer, circumstances and the church begin to line up to say the same thing, you can proceed with confidence to follow God’s directions.” God works through His people. God works through me and He works through you.
Also from the book, “God made us mutually interdependent. We need each other. What one member lacks, others in the body can supply.” I need you. And you need me.
“Therefore, encourage one another and build each other up, just as in fact you are doing.” 1 Thessalonians 5:11 [+/-]
Who does God bring to mind in your life?
Who do you have the opportunity to encourage?
“But without faith it is impossible to please Him, for he who comes to God must believe that He is, and that He is a rewarder of those who diligently seek him.” Hebrews 11:9 [+/-]
Seek out extraordinary people of faith. Be one yourself.
